Examplify Registration
If you are taking the bar exam using Examplify, complete all the steps listed below by your jurisdiction’s deadline:
1.MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
CONFIRM YOUR DEVICE MEETS THE MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
To view the list of minimum system requirements, visit: Examplify: Minimum System Requirements and review the requirements for your device under the section Bar Exam Notes.
Note: You will need the administrator level account to install Examplify.
2. LOG IN
Go to your jurisdiction’s homepage: https://www.examsoft.com/XXbar and log in under ‘Exam Takers’ with the username and password emailed to you by noreply@examsoft.com. If you do not have your password available, please follow the instructions here to reset your password.
3. PAY
Some jurisdictions require payment prior to using Examplify. Do not launch Examplify before making a payment. Carefully read the payment screen before completing your transaction. You are required to pay the license fee for each exam (even if you took a previous bar exam or used Examplify at a law school). Many applicants try to launch Examplify without making a payment. The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Payment of the license fee does not guarantee you a seat for the exam. All steps listed MUST be completed before the Registration Deadline.
4. DOWNLOAD
Click “Download” to download the latest version of Examplify and complete the installation process. You must accept the disclaimer and then follow this step even if you previously downloaded Examplify for another exam.
5. LAUNCH EXAMPLIFY AND REGISTER
Register with the institution ID and credentials located at the bottom of the email received after the registration opens. Exam day exams and a mock exam will download automatically after registration. Once the files are downloaded, they will appear under downloaded on the left hand side of the Examplify homepage.
6. MANDATORY MOCK EXAM
To prepare for your exam, and to ensure that your laptop is functioning properly, it is required that you complete and upload a mock exam. After you take the mock exam, you MUST upload the answer file by the deadline! You will receive an email confirmation once you have uploaded it.
THE PASSWORD TO OPEN IT is ‘Mock123’.
NYLE: The following registration information is only for Bar applicants. If you are taking the New York Law Exam, please refer to the specific registration instructions emailed to you.
- Character Limit – Some essay questions may have a character limit. You can see the character count of any essay answer above the Examplify answer window. If a limit is imposed, it will be displayed in the lower left corner next to the question number.
- Special characters – Special characters, such as § ¢ £ ¤ ¥ (c), are available through the “Symbols” tab on the side bar menu. If you don’t see any special characters in this line, then your computer may not have any appropriate fonts on it. Fonts exist on your computer as part of Windows and are not part of Examplify.
- Cut/Copy and Paste are enabled during the exam. As a safeguard against accidental deletions, ExamSoft suggests using Copy & Paste rather than Cut & Paste.
- Undo – Examplify can undo up to the last 50 actions in each essay response question.
- Exam Backup – Examplify maintains several encrypted copies of your exam on your hard drive. If your computer crashes during an exam, you can restart it and Examplify will automatically select the most current version of your exam from your hard disk.
- Auto Save – Examplify saves your work automatically every 60 seconds.
- Spell Check – Certain features such as Spell Check, ability to print and whether Examplify locks your computer during the exam (i.e. secure mode), are controlled by the exam administrator.
